Average Customer Labour Sales on the Increase

The National Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order increased by over $12.00 in July, and has continued to increase in August.

Ford now has the highest Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order of the top 5 selling makes, edging in front of Holden… Both are significantly higher than the National Average benchmark. Mazda’s increase in July was less than Hyundai’s, both are now just above the National Average. Toyota have consistently remained under the National Average, recording a decreasing trend over the last 12 months, and clearly have the lowest Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order of the top 5 selling makes. Further investigation within New South Wales shows that only Toyota have consistently remained under the National Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order 12 month trend.

Analysis of new vehicles sold in 2006, 2007 and 2008 of the top 5 vehicle selling makes, has Ford and Holden with the highest Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order. Both have increased by over $40.00 per customer repair order in the last 12 months.

Mazda have been consistent in recent months with the National Average, increasing $30.00 per customer repair order in the last 12 months. Hyundai have increased by $40.00 per customer repair order in the last 12 months, but remain under the National Average. Toyota have recorded no increase in the last 12 months, and remain significantly lower than the other top 5 makes and the National Average.

Analysis by the medium vehicle segment, shows the Holden Astra has consistently recorded the highest Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order in the last 12 months. The Ford Focus has increased by $30.00 per customer repair order in the last 12 months. The Mazda 3 has increased slightly and is above the National Average with the Holden Astra and Ford Focus. The Hyundai i30 has consistently recorded the lowest Average Labour Dollar spend per Customer Repair Order.
